Oliver on Sunday took part in Reveley Lodge’s celebrations for the 150th Canada Day, the anniversary of the unification of Canada from separate colonies into one country.
Speaking this week, Oliver said: ‘I very much enjoyed Reveley Lodge’s celebrations for Canada Day this weekend.
‘The event has a special significance for our family as my wife Blythe is Canadian. It was a lovely event and our children particularly enjoyed the chance to make headdresses in the tepee.
‘Congratulations to everyone involved in organising the event for their hard work and making it such a success.’
The event on 2 July was well attended and featured a whole range of activities and entertainment, including arts and crafts, a children’s entertainer, traditional Canadian music and a prosecco bar.
Canada Day celebrates the anniversary of the enactment of the British North America Act, 1867, which united the three separate colonies of Canada, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick into a single self-governing Dominion called Canada for the first time.
