Oliver Dowden chaired a day of enthusiastic debating at the House of Commons between students from local schools, including Bushey Meads, Queens' School and Bushey Academy. In a series of lively debates, Bushy Meads claimed victory over their rival local schools. The debates ranged from arming the police to the stripping of citizenship.
Oliver said:
"I was very impressed by the knowledge of difficult political ideas many of the children exhibited, as well as their ability to clearly articulate themselves.
“It was great to see children actively engaged in political discussion".
