Oliver has written to the Transport Minister, Jo Johnson MP, calling for a new meeting to discuss progress on extending the Oyster network to Potters Bar and Radlett.
In a letter co-signed by Welwyn Hatfield MP, Grant Shapps, Mr Dowden raised the concerns of constituents over the lack of news from the project following the answer to a Parliamentary Question last year.
Speaking earlier this week, Oliver said: ‘In July 2016, I secured from the Rail Minister a commitment that contactless Oyster technology would be extended by the end of 2018. This was excellent news for our residents and local businesses, who will benefit from the greater convenience and efficiency of the system.
‘However, following the answer to the Parliamentary Question tabled by Grant asking for an update on progress, many of our constituents have become concerned that this commitment will not be met.
‘That’s why it’s important to convene this meeting and get some clarity about the situation. I will be keeping residents updated over the coming weeks.’
The details of the meeting are currently being finalised and further information will be published once available.
