Oliver recently visited Yavneh Primary School to speak with students about UK Parliament Week 2023.
Oliver was welcomed by Yavneh Primary School Headteacher, Mrs Caroline Field and Yavneh College Headteacher, Mr Spencer Lewis.
Oliver was given a tour of the school by Mrs Field and Mrs Lewis, as well as the newly elected school prefects.
Following the tour, Oliver joined pupils in the school hall for a Q&A session about his role as the local Member of Parliament as well as his role as Deputy Prime Minister.
Oliver was then later joined by the Sixth Form Politics students from Yavneh College for a short Q&A session.
Oliver said: “It was a delight to return to Yavneh Primary School to celebrate UK Parliament Week 2023. After my last visit just over 4 years ago, it is great to see the school continuing to do so well.”
Oliver added: “I particularly enjoyed taking questions from the pupils who showed a genuine interest in the role of a local Member of Parliament and what happens in Westminster.
I was also very pleased to have some time with Yavneh College Politics students who rightly outlined their concerns for the ongoing situation in Israel. I do hope I was able to provide some assurance over the Governments support for Israel and their right to self-defence.
Thank you again for the warm welcome!”
