To mark UK Parliament Week, Sir Oliver visited Dame Alice Owen’s School in Potters Bar for a talk with their A Level Politics classes.
Sir Oliver spoke about his experiences in politics and his various roles in Government, including his time as Deputy Prime Minister. Students also had the opportunity to ask Sir Oliver questions on pressing political issues and current affairs.
Sir Oliver said “It was fantastic to celebrate UK Parliament Week by giving a talk to A Level Politics students at Dame Alice Owen’s School!
I thoroughly enjoyed speaking to them about my time in politics and answering their thought-provoking questions. It was also great to hear their perspectives on current political issues.
Getting young people engaged with politics is incredibly important and I am proud that these students in Hertsmere are so well-informed and politically aware. I look forward to seeing what they go on to do!”
