Oliver praised staff and volunteers during a visit today to Med Mart Pharmacy in Borehamwood. Med Mart, which is based in Imperial Place off Maxwell Road, has been offering vaccines to residents since January last year and Oliver was delighted to visit to promote the booster campaign.
Oliver said: ‘I was pleased to visit Med Mart and see the fantastic work being undertaken to vaccinate residents. It is so important that those who are invited for a booster jab take up the invitation. Getting the jab is the most important thing you can do to help keep the virus at bay during these colder months.
Community pharmacies like Med Mart have played a crucial role in our response to Covid-19, delivering over 54,000 vaccines already which is the second highest amount in Hertsmere. As well as their commitment to vaccinating residents, Med Mart has continued to support people ensuring they can access the medicines and medical advice and support they need.’
During the visit, Oliver met with Managing Director Hanie Aghamohammad, as well as staff and volunteers who have been instrumental in the vaccination rollout, including Shenley borough councillor Natalie Susman.
Mrs Aghamohammad said: ‘It has been a superb and satisfying experience to be part of this national effort saving the community. While it has been stressful and challenging at times, it has been worth the effort with results achieved and everything we have learnt. Thanks to all staff at Med Mart who worked tirelessly, making sure we deliver the best service to our customers. Special thanks to all volunteers helping us as we wouldn't have been able to do this without them.’
Cllr Natalie Susman said: I have been volunteering with Medmart for the last year together with a team of other dedicated volunteers sourced and trained by Communities First. It has been an amazing experience to be part of this incredible rollout and this could never have happened without Hanie and her superb team at Medmart.’
