Mr Dowden recently convened a meeting with Dr Catherine Page, GP Lead for Hertsmere Locality and Avni Shah, Director of Primary Care Transformation for the Integrated Care Board (ICB) to discuss possible plans for a new healthcare hub in Borehamwood.
This follows previous meetings with West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and local GP surgeries, such as Manor View Practice to understand their position on the need for new medical facilities in Borehamwood.
Oliver also met with the Managing Director of Hertsmere Borough Council at the beginning of this year to make the case for a new facility.
Oliver said: ‘Since I was first elected in 2015, I have campaigned tirelessly to improve medical facilities in Borehamwood. I know that this is an ongoing matter for residents in Borehamwood, who regularly contact me about their difficulty in getting a GP appointment.
Oliver added: As our towns and villages grow, particularly in areas such as Borehamwood, it is important that we have the correct infrastructure to match.
I will continue to make the case on behalf of residents for a new medical facility in Borehamwood with key stakeholders and I will keep you updated on my work.
