I convened a meeting yesterday at the Three Compasses for local residents and councillors to listen to concerns about the plans to develop the former equestrian centre in Patchetts Green for housing.
I have been contacted by a number of residents who are worried about the impact of the proposed development. As a Member of Parliament I am not responsible for local planning decisions, but I care deeply about maintaining our green spaces and quality of life so am keen to ensure that residents' voices are heard.
That is why I convened the meeting with councillors, so that those making the decisions are aware of the strength of feeling in Patchetts Green about this proposal.
It was a good opportunity for the community to have their say and to speak to their local representatives about the planning process, and their objection to this development in their rural hamlet. I will also be writing to the council directly to highlight some of the issues that residents have raised.
