Oliver has today welcomed the news that the creative industries will receive a package of over £1 billion in additional tax relief over the next five years.
Following the Spring Budget 2024, the Chancellor announced support across the whole UK screen industry, providing vital tax relief.
The Government will provide eligible film studios in England with a 40% relief on their gross business rates until 2034.
Oliver said: ‘I am delighted with the news that creative industries are set to receive up to a 40% tax relief on their business rates. I lobbied intensively for this and it will benefit our vibrant film and tv industry here in Hertsmere, including BBC Elstree Studios and Sky Studios.’
Oliver added: ‘Not only will this secure the long-term investment for our local economy, it will ensure that Hertsmere’s world-class film and TV production sector continues to thrive.’
