Oliver Dowden MP has today welcomed further income tax cuts for hardworking people in Hertsmere, delivering on the Conservatives’ key election promise to raise the personal allowance.
Mr Dowden said: “I enjoyed making the case for a higher wage, lower tax and lower welfare economy today on BBC News, Sky News and the BBC lunchtime Budget Special.
The rise in personal allowance will mean lower taxes for around 47, 624 working people in Hertsmere, with an estimated 986 people taken out of income tax altogether.
I am delighted that the Budget will deliver for the hard working people of Hertsmere. A £9 per hour living wage by 2020, no family home being subject to inheritance tax and a £11,000 tax free allowance are all measures that will give families more financial security for the future.”
