Oliver Dowden visited Hertsmere’s interfaith forum, where he met with representatives from faith groups across the community, including members from the Jewish, Christian, Muslim and Hindu faiths. They discussed issues of concern, including space required for congregations to hold services, the importance of community safety, particularly given recent events, and the need for greater interfaith understanding.
Oliver said:
“It has been a pleasure to attend today’s meeting. In these difficult times of heightened tension, understanding between different faiths and communities is more important than ever.
“We had a very enjoyable conversation. We are lucky to have such a vibrant faith community here in Hertsmere.
“People of all faiths can rely on me to stand up for their interests and defend the vital role of faith groups in our community”.
