The Member of Parliament, Oliver Dowden CBE MP recently visited the Shrimad Rajchandra Mission Dharampur (SRMD) London Spiritual Centre in Bushey.
Following a welcome from trustees and members of the Executive Committee, Oliver gave a short address to the congregation.
After a tour of the newly refurbished Centre which included an exhibition on the various local and international community projects, Oliver helped pack hot meals for those in need, and sat down to eat with members of the community.
Mr Dowden said: “I was delighted to visit and speak at the London Spiritual Centre in Bushey, and to talk with trustees and members of the congregation.
We discussed their weekly activities, including meditation and yoga for those in the community, as well as their social initiatives.
I thoroughly enjoyed my visit, and it was a pleasure to meet all those at the Centre and try the delicious food made by the volunteers there.”
Mayur Mehta, President of SRMD UK, added: "Mr Dowden's visit and engagement with our volunteers uplifted spirits and reinforced their commitment to serving the local community. His dedication to advancing the common good is very much appreciated and we look forward to his continued collaboration in our regular community projects."
