This week Oliver joined commemorations marking Holocaust Memorial Day.
This included signing the Holocaust Educational Trust’s book of commitment to remember the lives of 6 million Jewish people who were killed during the Second World War.
The 27 January is the anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi concentration and death camp Auschwitz-Birkenau.
Fragility of Freedom is the theme for Holocaust Memorial Day 2024.
Oliver said: ‘I was proud to be able to sign the Book of Commitment in Parliament, and to honour those murdered during the Holocaust as well as pay tribute to the extraordinary Holocaust survivors who work tirelessly to educate young people.
‘We must never forget what happened, both to keep alive the memories of those lost, and stand firm against the prejudice and hatred today.
‘As your local MP and in my role as Deputy Prime Minister, I remain firmly committed to fighting antisemitism and hate of any kind.’
