I was delighted to speak at the Watford and West Herts Chamber of Commerce networking event yesterday evening.
It was a well attended event, with representatives from over 50 local businesses present. From financial services to recruitment, to solicitors to digital marketing, it was great to meet so many small business owners and have the opportunity to speak to them individually.
Small businesses are the backbone of our local economy, employing thousands of people and generating wealth and prosperity for our community. I am determined to be a strong voice for hard working people who demonstrate the energy and creativity to put their own careers and income on the line to build thriving businesses.
Just next week, I will be introducing a debate in Parliament on the taxation of small businesses which will give me the opportunity to raise their concerns.
