I used Foreign Office questions to raise the ongoing case of Mr Kamal Foroughi, who is 76 years old and is being detained in Evin prison in Iran. There are serious concerns about his health, including the possibility that he may be suffering from cancer.

Mr Foroughi’s son Kamran is a Hertsmere resident and was in the public gallery to watch his Dad’s case being raised.

I was pleased to learn from the Minister that Mr Foroughi’s case has been raised with the Deputy Secretary G...eneral of the Iranian High Council for Human Rights. I will continue to press the case for Mr Foroughi’s release on humanitarian grounds.
