In a meeting with Herts Valley Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), the NHS body responsible for commissioning health services in Hertsmere, Oliver Dowden, Member of Parliament for Hertsmere, has secured a commitment that Potters Bar Community Hospital will be remaining open.
Mr Dowden met with Dr Nicholas Small, Chair of the CCG and Mr David Evans, the CCG’s Care Programme Director and it came following the concerns raised by local residents over the future of hospital.
Speaking this week, Mr Dowden said: ‘I know many of my constituents were deeply concerned about Potters Bar Community Hospital. That’s why I believed it was important to convene this meeting as soon as possible with the CCG to get clarity from them about its future.
‘I was very pleased to secure a firm assurance from them that this important local hospital will remain open and that its future is secure. I hope this latest news will come as a welcome relief to my constituents.
‘I will of course be continuing to monitor this and other healthcare issues in my role as Hertsmere’s MP and look forward to working with the CCG further in the months and years ahead.’
