It was an important debate in the House of Commons yesterday on trade union reform.
I spoke about the need to protect hard working people in Hertsmere from unnecessary disruption caused by strikes with little support.
Hardworking people in Hertsmere need to commute to work on time and make sure their children are able to go to school, and it is important to minimise the impact of strike related disruption on them.
I made the point that this legislation does not prevent people from striking. What it does bring about is more balance between the rights of striking and non- striking workers.
