Oliver recently announced that following his bid, Bushey Station has been successful in securing funding from the Government’s Access for All programme.
This significant achievement marks a pivotal step towards making Bushey Station fully accessible for all passengers, including those with disabilities and mobility challenges.
The Access for All programme, established by the Department for Transport, aims to make railway stations across the UK more accessible by providing funding for essential improvements.
Oliver said: “Delighted to have secured Access for All funding for Bushey Station. This is something that I have campaigned tirelessly for, and I am pleased to have delivered this for concerned residents.
This funding will provide vital upgrades at the station. Many residents have been concerned over the large gap between the train and the platform at Bushey station, which is a particular issue for those with accessibility issues, wheelchair users and parents with prams.”
Oliver added: “Everyone should have the right to public transport, regardless of their accessibility needs, and this funding will provide equal travel opportunities for all members of the community.
Further successful stations will be announced in due course, and I will continue to make the case for funding for Radlett Station for the provision of step free access.”
