Oliver visited the new state of the art school building under construction at Hertswood Academy, Borehamwood.
Oliver had a full tour of the site, accompanied by the Headmaster, Peter Gillett and the chief engineer, Steven Yanusauskas.
Speaking after the visit, Oliver said: ‘It was a pleasure to tour Hertswood Academy’s new school building, which is nearing its completion.
I have championed the rebuilding of the School from the start and it has been a delight to see the plans come to life.
I look forward to visiting again after the new school building opens to pupils in September.’
The building when finished will provide a new home for Hertswood Academy, all under one roof. It includes new smart classrooms, a sports hall, theatre and café. Construction is estimated to cost a total of £32million and is scheduled to be completed for the new 2019-2020 academic year.
