Oliver last week toured the Elstree site of Baxter Healthcare Ltd, a global medical supplies manufacturer.
Oliver met with the plant manager, Mr Brian Morgan, and Ms Nicky Sturt, Baxter’s Market Access Director before seeing their operations first hand.
Speaking afterwards, Oliver said: ‘It was fascinating to visit to Baxter’s Elstree plant.
‘It’s fantastic that we have such a successful innovative company working here in Hertsmere, making and exporting high quality products around the world. It’s just one of many world class businesses choosing Hertsmere to base themselves, creating wealth and great jobs.
‘We had a productive discussion about the challenges they are facing as a business, which is crucial in helping me better represent our area in Westminster.
‘I’m grateful to the team at Baxter taking the time to show me around.’
Baxter International is an American owned Fortune 500 company, but with numerous sites across the United Kingdom. The plant at Elstree primarily manufactures medical bone grafts, over 75 per cent of which are exported.
