Oliver is delighted by the news that 90-year-old Albert Dolbec has been granted Indefinite Leave to Remain in the United Kingdom. This is a result of tireless lobbying from Oliver, who has been engaging closely with the Home Office to ensure that his constituent could remain in the UK.
Albert Dolbec has been married to his wife Dawn, 84, for 25 years. They decided to relocate permanently to the UK after many years dividing their time between the US and the UK, after their health began to decline. They approached Oliver after Albert was faced with deportation, due to confusion over visas.
Oliver said: ‘I have been liaising with the Dolbecs since March 2018, and have repeatedly made Albert’s case to UK Visas and Immigration in this time.
I have personally engaged with the Home Office a number of times, and am delighted that Albert has now been granted Indefinite Leave to Remain and can remain in the UK with his wife and family.
I know it was a difficult time for the entire family, and I am pleased that this has been resolved.’
