I have always believed in working hard and supporting yourself, your family and your country. It doesn’t matter where you come from, you should be able to succeed through hard work and determination.
Small businesses are the embodiment of this idea. When people start up a small business, they put their careers, their income and often their homes on the line. They are building something that not only supports themselves but also our wider community through the jobs and wealth they create.
I am determined to encourage and support this in Hertsmere, which has a vibrant and growing local economy. In Radlett/Bushey, we are fortunate to have a fantastic range of thriving local small businesses, which make up an important part of our high street and form the backbone of our local economy.
I make regular visits to small businesses in Hertsmere and have met countless local business owners during my time as your Member of Parliament. These fantastic businesses work hard to support and serve the local community.
I was delighted to stand up for these small businesses in Parliament recently, asking what the government are doing to support them.
I know many small businesses in Radlett/ Bushey are worried sick about National Insurance Contribution rise.
Our local small businesses enhance our high streets. They keep our distinct towns and villages unique and inspire a pleasant visit – helping protect what makes our area so special.
Most of these small businesses have been busy during the festive period. However, I encourage everyone to continue to get out in Radlett/Bushey and support our small local businesses, giving them the backing they need to grow and succeed.
