Oliver Dowden was shown around the Potters Bar Food Bank by volunteers from the Navratri Food Bank Collection (NFBC), including 9-year-old Dylan Bunty Shah.
Since its launch in July 2013, the Potters Bar Food Bank has helped hundreds of people, many of them children. The food bank is run solely by volunteers, who are there to listen and assist those whose lives have been shaken by sudden crisis.
Oliver Dowden said:
“When families and individuals go through sudden crisis, it is important that communities come together to support one another. The selfless work of local volunteers at the NFBC and the Potters Bar Food Bank has made a real difference to people's lives.
“It was great to meet the volunteers helping those in need. I hope they continue their excellent work.”
