Oliver earlier this month visited the Oshwal Jain Temple near Potters Bar.
Speaking after the visit Oliver said: 'It was very enjoyable to visit the Jain Temple near Potters Bar last week, especially as we have growing Jain community here in Hertsmere.
'It was a beautiful temple and it was great being able to see the work they do with older residents for myself as well
'We also discussed the wider work the Jain community is doing in the community, including the supporting the animal welfare centre near Watford.'
Jainism is an ancient religion from India that teaches that the way to liberation and bliss is to live a life of harmlessness and renunciation. The temple near Potters Bar is one of the main hubs of the movement in the UK and has been home to the Jains since 1980.
