Oliver Dowden, Parliamentary candidate for Hertsmere, visited The Purcell School for Young Musicians, in Bushey. He met with Headmaster, David Thomas, to discuss the school’s commitment to providing exceptional young musicians with the best possible teaching, irrespective of their background.
Oliver was shown around the school’s impressive facilities, spoke to some of the students and observed some of their classes.
Oliver Dowden said:
"Unfortunately, ‘elite’ is very often conflated with ‘privilege’. But not so here, where Hertsmere has a world class institution that trains some incredibly promising young musicians, regardless of background.
“I wish all the students the very best for the future."
