It was good to meet with my constituent Kamran Foroughi and Foreign Office Minister, Tobias Ellwood, to discuss Kamran's campaign to free his father, Kamal. Mr Ellwood assured us that Kamal Foroughi's continued detention is a high priority and that the Foreign Office is doing everything it can to help. Mr Ellwood agreed to meet the Iranian Charge d'Affaires to discuss a way forward. I was glad to be able to raise Kamal's case for a second time in Parliament earlier this week. I will continue to do everything I can to support Kamran's campaign and help secure his father's release from prison in Iran on humanitarian grounds.
