As part of my ongoing campaign against the Radlett Rail Freight Terminal, I have written a joint letter with St Albans MP, Anne Main, to Network Rail seeking assurances that the proposed Radlett Rail Freight Terminal will not adversely effect passenger services on the Thameslink line.

It has long been asserted that the infrastructural works needed to facilitate the proposed Radlett Rail Freight Terminal will not have an adverse impact on passengers using the Thameslink service. However, this has yet to be underpinned by detailed analysis. Before Network Rail commenced the ongoing vital infrastructural works at London Bridge, similar assurances were made regarding potential of the works to adversely impact passenger services. Quite clearly this has not been the case.

Since being elected as the Member of Parliament for Hertsmere last May, I have had two meetings with Govia representatives and at both meetings the works at London Bridge have been cited as being one of the main causes of delays and cancellations on the Thameslink line. As a commuter myself I am fully aware of how much inconvenience this has caused for passengers from Radlett and Borehamwood. The moment I receive a response from Network Rail I will provide an update.
