Oliver Dowden, MP for Hertsmere, supported Dementia Week 2016 with a visit to “Older People’s Day” at Allum Hall. Mr Dowden said: “Older People’s Day is a fantastic initiative by Hertsmere Community Action together with Hertsmere Borough Council. “It was great to meet the local groups, organisations and charities who work with our older people. I was very interested to learn about the services they offer to assist the eldery with living safe, healthy and independent lives. “Almost everyone has someone amongst their friends and family who suffers from Dementia. We can all learn more about how we can help people affected by it. I certainly learned a lot from talking to organisations like the Alzheimer’s Society and I am keen to do all I can to support them.”
