Oliver Dowden visited the global headquarters of UK success story Symphony Environmental Technolohies, in Borehamwood, which specialises in developing and marketing a wide range of plastic products and other environmental technologies. Set up in 1995, the company has gone from strength to strength, all the while remaining resolutely British.
Oliver Dowden met with the Commercial Director and Deputy Chairman, Michael Stephen, and Finance Director, Ian Bristow, to learn more about Symphony's products and research. The company has been expanding its presence in global export markets, including exciting new movements into the US. With 67 distributors in 92 countries around the world, Symphony Environmental Technologies are a great advert for British technology abroad.
Oliver was taken for a tour of the offices and laboratory where their technology experts perform - what Mr Stephen described as - "mind-boggling" work.
Oliver said of his visit:
"The growth, talent and innovation here is typical of a growing trend within British companies. It is a testament to the hard work and ingenuity of owners and staff at companies like Symphony Environment Technologies, that Britain is once again being seen as a highly desirable place to invest and set up a company.
"The Conservatives long-term economic plan is creating an envrionment in which companies like Symphony are able to flourish".
