Oliver Dowden, MP for Hertsmere, has pledged his support for the new toddler play area at Shenley Park following a meeting with campaigners.
The project will create a new exciting playground for younger children.
The park, which is popular with young families, already has a play area which caters for older children but parents realised there was not equipment for their toddlers.
Parents from Shenley, Radlett and Borehamwood came together to raise funds for a new play area which toddlers can enjoy as well.
Following a meeting with Linzie Barr, one of the organisers, Mr Dowden said:
‘I met with Linzie Barr at a surgery in Radlett last Friday and was impressed with her energy, ingenuity and dedication.
‘She has worked exceptionally hard to raise over £9,800 for the project, with initiatives such as a family fun day, silent auction and crowdfunding page.
‘Local people have shown tremendous generosity in raising such a large amount of money and I encourage everyone help raise the remaining £10,000’.
The Shenley Park Trust will begin to clear the area soon before the new equipment is installed.
