At an event in Parliament this week, Oliver was delighted to meet with pupils from Hertswood School and Bushey Academy who were receiving awards for efforts during recent work placements.
The event was hosted by Access Aspiration, a London based charity which aims to provide access to employability training and aspirational work placements for young people. The students, joined by their parents, teachers and work placement providers, were awarded certificates for achieving excellence during work experience.
Oliver said: ‘I was very pleased to be able to meet with students from Hertswood School and Bushey Academy, two of our fantastic local schools.
‘The students had a wide range of amazing apprenticeship opportunities, from the BBC to the Bank of England. It’s really important that pupils from local schools have the chance to have get this kind of work experience and I encourage others to get involved. The awards were well deserved and I wish them all the best of luck for the future.’
