Oliver yesterday joined  the celebrations at the Raj Garden curry house in Bushey, which was marking its 20th birthday.

Today Oliver said: 'I thoroughly enjoyed joining the celebrations for the 20th Birthday of the Raj Garden, a Bushey institution.

'I was joined by the Mayor of Hertsmere, Cllr Peter Rutledge, and a number of mayors from across Hertfordshire and North London.

'It was good speaking with the staff, touring the kitchen and eating the delicious meal we had there afterwards.

'I wish them many years of success to come and hope to visit again soon.'

After two years as Hertsmere’s MP, Oliver is seeking re-election as the Conservative candidate at the General Election on 8 June.
