Oliver last month addressed the meeting of the Bushey Forum at Rosary Priory, taking questions from members about a host of issues, from local to international.
Speaking later, Oliver said: ‘It was a pleasure to address the Bushey Forum on Thursday last week.
‘It’s important for me to meet local people and organisations to understand the issues facing them. Over the past two years as Hertsmere’s MP I’ve met dozens of organisations including civic societies, green belt societies and numerous campaigning organisations.
‘This event provided us with the opportunity to discuss issues relevant to Bushey residents locally and nationally. It was a very enjoyable and informative evening. My thanks go to the Bushey Forum who I know work tirelessly to maintain Bushey as such a special place to live and also to the Rosary Priory for kindly hosting the event.’
The Bushey Forum is a local civic society, made up of Bushey residents. The group meets regularly to discuss local issues and to make sure that the voice of Bushey is heard in Hertsmere and Watford. Membership is open to anyone living or having close connections to Bushey.
After two years as Hertsmere’s MP, Oliver is seeking re-election as the Conservative candidate at the General Election on 8 June.
