Oliver has met with the Transport Secretary, the Rt Hon Chris Grayling MP, to press for an update on the progress of work to deliver contactless Oyster technology to Radlett and Potters Bar stations.
The meeting came following the agreement secured by Oliver last year with the Government and TfL to have the technology rolled out and operational by the end of 2018.
Speaking after this most recent meeting, Oliver said: ‘I was very pleased last year to have secured the commitment that contactless Oyster technology will be coming to Potters Bar and Radlett by the end of 2018. I am monitoring work on this closely and I used my latest meeting with the Transport Secretary to push for an update on the progress that’s been made.
‘He assured me that the Government remains committed to the 2018 deadline and work is on track so that commuters will soon be able to use one card to tap in and travel from Potters Bar and Radlett throughout London.
‘I welcomed this news and will continue to push both the Government and TfL to make sure the commitment is met.’
