I am delighted to be writing in this, the first edition of My Potters Bar News. Some readers may know My News publications elsewhere and it’s a fantastic magazine, delivering genuinely local news. I know that it will become a well-loved part of Potters Bar life and it’s a privilege for me to join as a regular columnist.

As your Member of Parliament I see every day the great sense of community we have here in Potters Bar. From the Sixty Plus Lunch Club at the Wyllyots Centre, to civic and campaigning organisations such as the Little Heath Action Group and the Potters Bar Society, we are fortunate to have so many people who care deeply about our community. Since I was elected I have worked with all these organisations and many others to try and help preserve and enhance what makes Potters Bar such a special place to live.

This magazine will be, I am sure, another way of building the town’s community spirit. I look forward to using this column to update you on my work on behalf as your local Member of Parliament, both here in Hertsmere and in Westminster.
