Oliver was today promoted to the position of Parliamentary Secretary, a minister at the Cabinet Office, in the Prime Minister’s most recent reshuffle.
Oliver has been tasked by the Prime Minister to be responsible for cross-Government policy implementation, working closely with Downing Street and reporting to the Rt Hon David Lidington MP, Minister for the Cabinet Office.
Speaking after the announcement, Mr Dowden said: ‘I am delighted to have been appointed as Minister for Implementation at the Cabinet Office. It’s an honour to be able to serve Hertsmere and the country by helping to ensure that the Government delivers on the things that matter to people.
‘Of course I will continue to work as our area’s local MP, representing the people of Hertsmere.’
