Oliver today visited the Cuffley Manor care home in Potters Bar for tea and to meet with the home’s residents.

Speaking after the visit, Oliver said: ‘I very much enjoyed the chance to come to Cuffley Manor last week.

‘I had a number of fascinating conversations with the residents about their lives, careers and political views.

‘In particular, I was pleased to meet Gisela, originally from Hamburg, who escaped Nazi Germany with her family as a young girl and subsequently became an impressive violinist here in England.

‘I’m grateful to the Manor for the warm hospitality I received from all the residents and staff.’
