Oliver today had a further meeting with local residents to discuss Enso Energy’s planning application at the Hilfield Site, where they propose to develop a solar farm on the land to the North East and West of Elstree Aerodrome.
Oliver has previously met with residents on this issue and has been engaging with Hertsmere Borough Council, local councillors and constituents closely over the past few weeks.
Speaking afterwards Oliver said: ‘I met with residents again today to discuss Enso Energy’s solar farm application at the Hilfield Site. I was grateful to be joined by borough and county councillor Caroline Clapper who represents Aldenham West residents.
This was a constructive meeting. Whilst this is properly a matter for the Council, as I engage more on this issue my concerns about the size and scale of the application are mounting. I have always said that I will be a strong voice for residents in standing up for our green open spaces. I will continue to make sure their concerns are represented and have again written to the Council.'
