Oliver joined Potters Bar residents and members of the St John’s Methodist Church congregation to lead a public meeting discussing Climate Change, ahead of COP26.
Oliver said: ‘As we approach COP26, a vital climate change summit hosted by the UK in Glasgow, it was great to meet with residents to discuss Climate Change and environmental issues.
Hosting COP26 gives us the opportunity to provide global leadership on climate change, working with all countries to inspire climate action.
I particularly enjoyed chatting to students from local schools and we covered a broad range of issues including gas emissions, single-use plastics, offshore wind and electric cars. It was a brilliant opportunity to discuss with residents at length how all of us in Hertsmere can do our bit to tackle Climate Change.’
Oliver joined David Carter, the church spokesperson on environmental issues, for a conversation covering climate change and answered questions directly from the audience. Also in attendance were students from Mount Grace School and Dame Alice Owen’s as well as Potters Bar councillor Abhishek Sachdev.
