Oliver has expressed his disappointment following the Planning Inspectorate’s approval of the Deregistration and Exchange of village green land at Woodock Hill in Borehamwood.
The plans, submitted by Taylor Wimpey, will see a section of the village green deregistered as village green land and replaced by a separate piece of land on Barnet Lane.
Oliver said: 'I am incredibly disappointed to hear that the Planning Inspectorate has approved the Deregistration and Exchange of village green land at Woodcock Hill in Borehamwood.
I was opposed to this application from the start, having visited the village green on numerous occasions and seen for myself its importance to the local community. I made clear my opposition throughout the process, writing to the Secretary of State and the Planning Inspectorate to register my objections, as well as responding to the initial consultation.
I know the Woodcock Hill Village Green Association fought tooth and nail against the application, and I commend them for all their hard work. I will be working closely with them to explore further options to resist the plans.'
