Oliver has expressed his concerns about a number of planning applications on local green land.
Despite Hertsmere Borough Council’s decision earlier this year to shelve their draft Local Plan, following objections from over 18,000 residents, planning applications on sites included in the draft plan have been submitted in Bushey and Shenley.
Oliver said: 'I understand that a number of applications have been made for developments on sites which were included in the shelved draft Local Plan, including at Harts Farm in Bushey and Harris Lane in Shenley.
While individual planning decisions are solely a matter for Hertsmere Borough Council, I do not think it is appropriate for developments to be approved on sites which were included in the original draft plan, which was comprehensively rejected by residents.
I believe that priority must be given to protecting our green spaces while the council works to put together a more sustainable plan for development in the borough.'
