Today Oliver visited Elysium Healthcare, an independent provider of NHS specialist mental health services, based in Potters Bar.
Elysium provides NHS specialist mental health care facilities for teenagers aged between 13 and 18 years old. They currently have 23 acute beds and 18 low secure beds and care for those with a wide range of disorders and complex needs. The overall aim is to deliver improved quality of life and independence for patients whilst working closely with professionals from local mental health and social services teams.
Oliver said: ‘I commend the work of all those at Elysium Healthcare. Elysium offers a safe and nurturing environment to support and aid recovery of young people suffering from complex needs.
‘During the visit, I received a tour of the site which included an Ofsted registered school, a laundry room, dining area, quiet room and communal living space, which gave patients the opportunity to socialise with others.
Oliver added: ‘It was a pleasure to visit Elysium Healthcare and to meet with the hardworking staff who work tirelessly to improve the lives of other and who continue to deliver this important specialist care.’
