Oliver today joined residents in Borehamwood for the Vigil for Hostages.
Both Oliver and Chief Rabbi Mirvis addressed attendees and recommitted their unwavering support for the Jewish community here in Hertsmere.
Oliver said: ‘I was deeply honoured to join Chief Rabbi Mirvis and residents this morning at the Vigil for Hostages in Borehamwood.
Our thoughts are with those who have been taken hostage, and their families. The distress caused will be unimaginable for all those affected.'
Oliver added: ‘While we celebrate the release of hostages, there are still many who remain in captivity, and I stand united with residents in praying for their safe return.’
The Vigil for Hostages takes place every Friday at the Keystone Passage, Borehamwood Shopping Park at 9:30am.
