Residents and staff at Oakmoor Lodge Care Home in Bushey were delighted to welcome Hertsmere MP, Sir Oliver Dowden for a special visit where he took on the sweet task of judging a highly anticipated cake competition.

The Quantum Care Community Challenge aims to connect care home residents with their local community by engaging them in events and activities.

Sir Oliver Dowden MP said: “I was thrilled to visit Oakmoor Lodge Care Home in Bushey to judge their cake baking competition for the Quantum Care Community Challenge.

They were all fantastic, however I must say Christine was the worthy winner with her delicious chocolate cake!

The visit also included a short Q&A session with residents and hearing about Sir Oliver’s role as their local Member of Parliament.
