Oliver Dowden visited a public consultation in Potters Bar to discuss with local residents and developers plans for a solar farm. The site is located on part of a field within the Hatfield House Estate, to the east of Saint Giles Parish Church, South Mimms.
The plans will provide renewable energy that will feed into the national grid and will introduce new and encourage existing wildlife in the area.
Oliver Dowden said:
“Solar panels have important role to play as part of our energy mix.
“The council will have to make a decision on this, but I am keen that local residents make sure that their views are heard about whether this is good for Potters Bar and South Mimms.
“My biggest concern is always to help preserve and enhance to beautiful countryside we have around us.”
