Oliver Dowden visited Christ Church Little Heath in Potters Bar to learn about its Job Club, which has been established in partnership with Christians Against Poverty (CAP).
Oliver met with members of the congregation, volunteers and the vicar, Steve Rees. They explained how the Job Club helped local residents, who have been struggling to find work, to get back into employment. The process assists in a wide variety of ways, including CV writing and interview techniques, all of which contributes to increased confidence in the job market.
Oliver Dowden said:
“Each individual comes to the Job Club with their own unique set of circumstances and problems. An important aspect of the great work done by Christ Church Little Heath is get to know each candidate and really engage with them and help overcome their barriers to employment.
“It was very interesting to meet candidates and volunteers and discuss their issues. I hope that they all keep up the great work together."
