Oliver Dowden, MP for Hertsmere, has today expressed his disappointment following news of the dismissal of St Albans Council's court challenge.
Mr Dowden said: "I am very disappointed to hear that St Albans Council has been refused leave to appeal the dismissal of its court challenge against the decision made by the Department for Communities and Local Government, to approve plans for the proposed Radlett Rail Freight Terminal.
I will continue to vigorously pursue all possible alternatives to try and get the best deal for local residents. The last thing Radlett and the surrounding area needs is an entirely inappropriate rail freight terminal that threatens to clog up our roads with lorries, jam the Thameslink line with freight trains and spoil our surrounding countryside."
